Q: Why does the default configuration not include a monitor?
A: In our opinon the best way to buy a monitor is to actually see it in action in person so you can best see what you like or don't like about a particular monitor. These types of comparisons just can't be made by reading specs and looking at an online image. Also, shipping a monitor doubles the size of the shipping container. Buying locally is often less expensive. Monitors are also easily damaged in shipping. For all these reasons we reccomend you buy your monitor locally. For those of you that prefer to buy on online, we offer several choices.
Q: Are Monster Computers custom built?
A: Yes. Custom built being defined as "built to the customers specifications" so any computer maker who offers the ability to cusomize the sytem's components can claim their systems are custom built.
Q: Are Monster Computers hand made?
A: Yes. We assemble each system one at a time. There is no assembly line and all parts are aseembled and tested with a few basic tools.
Q: Are Monster Computers parts custom designed?
A: No. We purchase the best name brand 3rd party components available and assemble them in a custom configuration. We don't try to reinvent the wheel we just buy the best wheels available then assemble them.
Q: Why are Monster Computers so expensive?
A: Several reasons. First of all, because they are built by hand. We don't buy components in large enough qunatities to see significant discounts nor do we mass produce them which lowers per unit costs. The time to produce a machine is also much longer than when using assembly line techniques. Keep in mind also that our machines are desgined with the need of gamers and graphic designers in mind. Our machines have the most powerful processors, RAM, video cards, and other components available. If these we cars they would be stock race cars as opposed to the family sedan.
